While Cheow and I hovered around Marina Sq yesterday, we chanced upon PriceBreaker and the list outside the shop said flights to New York were going for $600 (before taxes). Crazy! I'm emailing them. Soon. As soon as I can get out of my depression over my finances.
I checked Xe.com and it seems that 1 USD really does equal 1.359..SGD. Crazy lah.
I keep thinking about this.
Also I may be moving from this blog. May. Be. Only. See how I feel tomorrow.
I'm watching a painful morning talkshow interview with an Indonesian artist and his Indonesian gallery owner (I think) and it reminds me of that one interview I had with this Chinese artist at that place at Robertson Quay where I asked the most inane questions and she just looked at me like I was a doink. Which I am.

Richard Quest, a reporter and business travel specialist for CNN International, is being arraigned today on a misdemeanor charge of drug possession after the authorities said he was found with methamphetamine in Central Park.
Mr. Quest was arrested early Friday morning after being escorted out of Central Park for violating the park curfew, a law enforcement official said Friday. The park is closed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The police noticed Mr. Quest at 64th Street and West Drive at about 3:40 a.m., the official said. As he was being escorted out, he volunteered, “I have meth in my pocket,” according to an official briefed on the case. The police searched him and recovered a small amount of methamphetamine in a Ziploc bag.
Mr. Quest is a high-profile correspondent for CNN International, known for feature reports and profiles. CNN calls Mr. Quest, who is British, one of the network’s “most instantly recognizable members.” He hosts “CNN Business Traveler” and a feature program titled “Quest” for the news network. CNN had no immediate comment.
This makes so much sense.

I did fall asleep at parts, but I always do. Except for the Billy the Kid parts (Richard Gere? Really?), I liked it. I didn't understand all of it, but I liked the feelings it gave me. Happiness is a trip through American musical history (which always includes a stop in old New York).

Today was semi-philosophical.
Reading David Carr's (presumably self-penned) bio on NYT (he's answering questions this week! Yay!) reminded me of well, other people who write unnecessarily cute and self-indulgent bios ... except they'll never be as funny as David Carr because their cute bios exist independently of any special bond created with the reader!
So, we have hereby created some rules for the creation of "cute bios" (defined as biographies which include, indeed sometimes revolve around quirky details and inside jokes about the author (and subject) of the bio):
#1: Your cute bio actually has to be funny
#2: You should not be a douchebag
Just whining. It's Toosday! I'm actually having a good start to the week, despite the horrible period. Even my iPod is cooperating nicely.
